Aims and objectives
Our main aim is to assist the integration, of migrant workers, refugees and asylum seekers in the East of England and improve local community cohesion through partnerships working. We look to review the relevance of accumulated knowledge for other transitional groups.

The partnership project runs until March 2009 and our key areas for development for the period are:

  • Supporting existing multi-agency networks through regional forums
  • Development of new multi-agency partnerships
  • Effective exchange of successful practice and information/knowledge management
  • Development of local integration strategies
  • Refugee involvement in multi-agency forums

The Project Objectives for the 2006-09 are:

  1. To support effective and sustainable multi-agency fora through establishment of sustainable strategic and regional links and other appropriate methods
  2. To facilitate access to and the effective exchange of successful practice through website, database of good practice and other means
  3. To assist in setting up new multi-agency fora as and where needed
  4. To develop process for multi-agency for a to identify, prioritise  and implement action to address access/ racial harassment/ cohesion issues
  5. To support refugee and community participation in multi-agency fora through developing resources and other suitable means  
  6. To assess need and potential for appropriate fora to address needs of other transitional groups (e.g., migrant workers, gypsies and travelers)
  7. To develop and implement a model for migrant fora as and where appropriate
